How to manage the subjects?

Are you ready to kick off your MCAT prep? Before you start to dive into the subject content, we recommend you to take time to create your study plan. Today, we'll talk about how to manage MCAT subjects so you can put each topics into your schedule effectively.

Since the MCAT exam comprises six subjects, some are standalone subjects and you can learn most of their topics separately such as CARS and Psych/Soc. However, there are some topics in Psych can (and should) be learnt in accordance with the nervous system’s topic in Biology such as biological bases of behaviours. Also Physics, a few topics can be learnt together with Chemistry such as atomic physics and atoms.

In regards to biochemistry and biology, most topics are related and should be learnt in parallel with one another. For example, it is better to completely understand amino acids and proteins before you learn about enzymes or the protein channels in cell membranes because the properties of amino acids will play a role.

While you’re planning topics and areas of study, try to study different topics for each session. MCAT doesn’t test your memorisation but asks you to solve the problems by integrating knowledge from different areas.
